WHEN I WAS 7 I EXPERIENCED THE SHARP SIDE OF SISTERHOOD...
On the playground, one of my "closest friends", Amanda gathered and convinced all the other girls to circle around me. They held hands tightly and spoke horrible things to me. Called me names like slut, whore, stupid, ugly... they sang stupid songs and would not stop when I yelled at them. The worst thing was that my very best friend was one of the girls in the circle, following along. I waited for a moment, thinking maybe one would recognize the evil at play, and let go of the lock, but nobody moved. Finally, because I was bigger and stronger than all of them. I simply walked up and pulled their hands apart and walked away. But I was not left un-scarred. That was the first but not the last time I've been harmed by girls or women that feel a certain way inside of themselves and project it onto me.
My guess is that you have a story too. This sisterhood wounding is painful, sneaky and is conditioned not to be felt.
